TickTock is a semi-autobiographical novel presented through the lens of a fictional character, Rollo Jenks.
Rollo leads two parallel lives. In one, he is an accomplished and innovative businessman. In the other, let’s just say that, given his background, it’s hardly surprising he was recruited by a nameless organisation with an obscure connection to the Secret Intelligence Service.
There’s intrigue, deception and real-life drama. There is also a poignant insight into the physical and mental toll he must endure to uphold an establishment in which he has lost all belief.
TickTock draws back the curtain on a world we think we know:
“Some people take action for the good of society, which the Law dictates is wrong and punishes them for it. Other people do evil things that cause great harm only for those who control the Law to reward them; after all, the Law is not concerned with Justice. However, there is a group of resourceful people operating in the shadows who are redressing this imbalance by taking matters into their own hands.”
But there is a further truth: a much more commanding force at work that cares nothing for the treacherous scheming of the wealthy or the power struggles of grasping politicians. It functions on an intimately human level, attacking rich and poor alike, and its effects are unavoidable. It is Nature itself.

A physical body can turn against itself, sometimes fatally, and neither medical science nor spiritual faith can do anything to prevent it.
TickTock is currently being edited and will be available in all the usual places from mid-summer 2025.
